Just thought I’d mention that at this time of year we either fly or drive 1500 miles through 3 other provinces + 2 ferry crossings (total time on water, 8 hrs) to get to our cathedral.
I am a little surprised that the diocese has not been split into 2 or more dioceses. That seems like an awfully long time to get to the cathedral.

We’ve just been realigned along provincial boundaries. Although our diocese covers some 133,000 square miles our Catholic population is less than 38,000.
