The Archbishop of Paris , Michel Aupetit , leads the celebration of this evening’s Mass of the Lord’s Supper in the Church of Saint-Sulpice , which is on the east side of Place Saint-Sulpice , and is only slightly smaller than Notre-Dame and thus the second largest church in Paris .

The Archbishop of Paris, Michel Aupetit, led the praying of the Stations of the Cross yesterday , Good Friday , along the Seine from the Pont Saint-Louis to the Pont de la Tournelle .

The Easter Vigil at Saint-Sulpice Church, Paris led by Archbishop Michel Aupetit , Archbishop of Paris .

Praise be the Lord! The faith remains strong, even in supposedly secular France!

Thank you Jesus for this renewal of faith in France.

I pray in Jesus’ name that this situation also inspires people to donate to the other historic Paris churches in need of repair and mainenance, including St. Sulpice which just had a smaller fire.

Paging @UpUpandAway

Is there a place where US people can donate to St. Sulpice, which also had a fire recently?

I tried to go through the French diocese donations site with my Visa, but my card got rejected.

I was planning to send them a donation even before this business happened with Notre Dame.

(I had no problem donating to Notre Dame using the “Friends of Notre Dame” US donations site that is set up to take Paypal.)

Not that I know of. Even people in France are asked to call the parish office to arrange donation. At the parish level, there is nothing set up online.

Which “French diocese donations site” did you attempt to donate through? 🤔

I’ll be in Paris tomorrow and will stop by there to ask about it if I have time—my schedule is already very full 😬 Otherwise, I’ll contact them on Wednesday.

Glad you could donate easily via Friends of Notre-Dame. 🙂:+1:t3:

Yes, that’s the Bishop’s Appeal. It’s generally not expected that people outside the diocese would contribute to this so it’s not set up to handle such transactions.

I’ll see what I can find out for you. It might take a while unless I’m able to drop by Saint-Sulpice in person.

Due to the fire in Notre-Dame de Paris, the Sunday evening Mass is celebrated at 18:30 in Saint-Sulpice Church.

KTO has redeployed its means to allow for broadcasts from this church.

It is Mgr Michel Aupetit, Archbishop of Paris, who presides at Mass on this 2nd Sunday of Easter, Sunday of the Divine Mercy.
