Mass on Monday instead of Mass on Sunday?

Thanks to everyone for your answers. I’ve decided now (and my co-leader had to accept ) that we will all be going to Mass on Sunday morning at the local parish (which indeed is really local, it’s the building next to ours) AND have Mass with our priest the following day. I didn’t reach our priest yet but will hopefully meet him tonight and maybe he can call the local pastor to announce our coming, as he has to make final arrangements regarding our use of the church for “our” Mass anyway, I guess.

Adjusting the timetable was a bit tricky but worked out in the end - without major losses.

Thank you LeMat for having the courage to ask your question, to hear the replies, and to work to change your format for the weekend.

You can call the parish office of the parish you will be taking the Youth to and let them know you will be at Mass.

I think it might be good since you work with Youth, to discuss with your priest the importance of always providing Mass for them when you have “command” over their weekend time. He will help you see how this must always be a priority.

No matter the “tricky” work, or “major losses”, or co-leaders willingness, you have a responsibility to God and the Youth to see all their needs are met when you accept them as your “children” for the weekend.
