Mass or Adoration

many days I wake up and am ready to go to work an hour before I need to be there.

sometimes I use that hour to go to Mass, sometimes to Adoration (we have perpetual adoration nearby).

when I go to adoration I sometimes wonder if I should be at Mass, since that is the most important prayer in our Church. But then I think that I might not otherwise have time for adoration.

Just wondering what others think about this. If you had to choose between the two on any given weekday, how would you make the choice?

I would go to mass. After all, in my opinion, Adoration is part of the Mass. At the Mass, the Eucharist is exposed to all of us too. 🙂 Furthermore, you receive Him as well.
 
It is said the Mass is the perfect prayer, so I would say Mass.

I’m a little suprised Adoration is going on during Mass; are they at different Churches?

There is no Adoration at any Mass.
The idea that I said above is that during an Adoration, the Eucharist is exposed. If you are in a Mass, isn’t the Eucharist exposed right after the Consecration. 😉
 
adoration is perpetual and so it is going on even during the weekday Masses (at St. Agnes Parish in Fort Wright, KY).
 
do these replies imply that adoration is something you do when you can’t get to Mass?
 
I tend to be a bit more practical in my approach, We have a adoration chapel here at our church in Orlando, which I attend for an hour. I see that my my private time with Jesus, and God.

Mass is all together different, Thats a whole different day, 2 hours a week with God is really not much to ask.

I 'd do them both.

Perpetual Adoration is often in a separate location, so there is no conflict with having Adoration during Mass.

stjosephtomasi, since you appear to have an hour free, and daily Mass usually doesn’t last for a whole hour, I would go to Mass first, and then spend the rest of the hour in the Adoration Chapel. Adoration doesn’t necessarily have to be for a whole hour; you can spend less time there if that’s all you have on any given day.
 
I love going to mass more than any other form of worship. You can adore Jesus and then receive him. I guess I don’t go to adoration enough though, because we only have it twice a month. 😦
 
Adoration is a devotion in addition to Mass. If you have an hour to spare, and two options, I would choose Holy Mass.
 
I think given the choice definitely Mass. I often do as another poster suggested - either arrive early or stay on afterwards, depending on the schedule, and have my time for Adoration then. Perfect combination!

And it doesn’t matter if the Eucharist is exposed or not. You can just sit in front of Jesus in the Tabernacle if He isn’t.

I agree, this appears to be the best solution to her time crunch and schedule so she can get both in.

Of course if the OP needs to vary it at any given day (either or depending on her physical and spiritual mood) she can do that.
 
I remember a suggestion in a spiritual book that if you can’t make it to Mass or Adoration, you can ask Jesus to spiritually take you to the tabernacle. Then, you can adore him even for a few minutes or even seconds. It’s like making a spiritual communion, which is also a good practice.

We are fortunate to have so many opportunities for Adoration and Mass. We have to remember that through out history and throughout the world, there are many that can’t be physically present for frequent Mass and Adoration.
 
Go to mass every chance you get. The SECOND best thing is Eucharistic Adoration. Mass comes first because it gives the most glory to God than any other form of worship.

What I like to do on Saturdays, is go to confession, then the mass and receive the most glorious sacrament of the Altar. After these I would go to the Perpetual Chapel and adore the Eucharist for at least a half hour. I would then say an Our Father, Hail Mary , and a Glory Be for the intentions of the Holy Father. All this will gain me a PLENARY INDULGENCE, a complete remission of punishments that are due for my sins in purgatory. With this it is possible to go straight to heaven and skip purgatory altogether. 😃

Many people don’t realize the treasures of the indulgences that are so EASY to get.
