To bring up cannibalism in the context of sacrifice, one would also have to bring up Abraham (and perhaps others?) being prepared to offer up his own son until he was stopped. (In the OT, the sacrifice wasn’t completed until parts of the victim were consumed.) He was only following God’s instructions; I don’t think it’s fair to drop labels where that’s the case.
ProVobis,
Please note that I did not “drop a label” but addressed a specific statement/question asked by the OP, that sounds like cannibalism. No one else had touched the topic so I added my two cents. Since he didn’t bring up Abraham I didn’t think to write about that, too.

Yes your post was very good. The thing is in Abraham’s day when they sacrificed animals which was a common practice. I think I would’ve taken my chances in hell rather than sacrifice an animal like that to consume, use in augury and so on. That’s just wrong. But it was a different world and the cannanites /on the outside/ weren’t monotheists. Thanks for clearing things up with your points.

I understand. I didn’t mean to attack you. You made good points, though the thought of consuming someone else’s body and blood will always be a turnoff for many, no matter what you call it.
