And you along with everyone on Catholic Answers, the Mods, the Owners and those who have left us.
My girls and I went to confession (although I didn’t make it because of the crowds - 20 days before or after for the Plenary Indulgence), said the Rosary with our Parish, celebrated a wonderful Holy Mass with Imaculate Mary and the Ave Maria in Latin, THEN glued and stapled the Latin inserts to our new parish Missels for the next two hours! If it wasn’t for my eight and five year olds doing the leg work of getting the missals from the pews and returning them, we might still be there.
What a wonderful day of service and prayers for Our Lady!

Pray for us O Holy Mother of God!

I had the honor of serving low Mass this morning. In just a few, I’ll be off to our evening High Mass. I’ll let the young guys serve that one. My old creaky knees can only take so much cold marble in one day. 😃

God bless all of you as we celebrate the Immaculate Conception of our Blessed Mother.

Went to 7:00 AM Mass here. My parish does have a 7:00 PM, but there is a snow warning for tonight. It is snowing (lightly) here now.

I can take the cold marble, it’s the up and down that is killing me anymore.
When we went at noon, we had a lady join our pew who was not young. She was seated on a chair at the end, which meant she did not have a kneeler so we moved over to give her room. I scooted my girls toward me and had the five year old sit on my lap. When it came time to kneel, I was on the ceramic tile. I thank God that He lead me to wear pants today instead of a skirt and kneehighs. Brrrrrr, that’s cold! And old catches up when I have to stand again. At least I had a pew to push on as I got up!

Our parish offered Masses at 9 am, noon, and 7 pm today. As I work the Thursday afternoon shift, I attended at noon and was pleasantly surprised at the good attendance. Everyone around me was belting out “Hail Holy Queen” at the end, which was also nice. 🙂

Couple of weeks ago, I was the #5 server at a High Mass. Which means, I spent almost the whole thing kneeling. Followed by Benediction. I didn’t think I was really that old, but by the end I found out I am an old geezer. Almost couldn’t get up. But mortification is good for the soul.

PS>>I’m glad I wore pants today too instead of a skirt. :bigyikes:

Hubby and I did not get to go. We had a winter ice/snow storm hit around 4:30 and did not stop til 4:00 this a.m. It was so horrible out. We did not want to risk the bad roads. I think the Lord and Blessed Mother will understand!!

well, turnout was light at our church… 😦

a lot lighter than i had hoped… it was rainy and cool… but,
not that cool…

we had 2 masses… one at 9am, maybe there were more
people at it… i hope so…

🙂

Our turnout was light also, however my Priest has been having a Vigil Mass the night before the Holy Day along with an earlier 9am Mass is probablly why.

Peace

We went to Mass last night and it was a beautiful Mass. The
priest spoke about the plenary indulgence, and how we all gained
one from doing what we had done during the course of the Mass.
He didn’t mention anything about confession though, and reading
that is a part of it upsets me now. I don’t know why he didn’t
mention it, all of these people now think they gained the
indulgence without knowing that this includes confession! 😦

We had around 30 people last night. Very discouraging. But the Bingo drew a huge crowd!

Get a load of this: We pull into the parking lot and it is full. I drive around a few times and finally park a street over. We get in church and 3 people are there. Then I remembered: Thursday night is bingo night, and they didn’t cancel or postpone it. So bingo was going on downstairs during mass. When we left, there were still a bunch of cars there. I was amazed!

We had a couple hundred people, but the church should have been packed. However our weather was horrible. It took me 3 times as long to get to church. We had about 7 inches of snow. People’s commute times were horrific. I took 2 hr. to drive home at 2:30pm in the afternoon and it usually takes me about 40 min. So, the priest prayed for all the drivers still commuting. What else can one do?

Now, the bingo you mention amazes me. How could they still have bingo durning mass? Oh well, their priorities are mixed up.

Our bingo passes out the Sunday bulletins the Friday prior…so you can say you have been to mass. Indeed, our priorities are all mixed up! Let’s pray for each other!

Our turnout was light, but we had three Masses, plus the weather was nasty. It was beautiful; our priest gave an amazing homily.
