He writes that the orgasm is part of the conjugal act, so the wife has the right to have it.
For the same reason, he writes that the husband commits a mortal sin if he, on purpose, doesn’t take care about wife’s climax.
lol, WOW.

hellopeople, It is based on these.

John 21:25

But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the word itself could not contain the books that would be written.

John16:12-13

"I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

John 20:21-23

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any they are retained.”

Matt 16:18-19

“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. ******** I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”****
These quotes don’t really prove anything. Jesus is talking directly to Peter in the Matthew passage…I don’t see anything about that power being given to anyone after Peter.

It makes no sense to accept the Bible but reject the rest of Catholic teaching, since both came to us from the same God and through the same Church.
I guess the beliefs of more than half of all Christians make no sense then.

Masturbation is a sin, but only if you aren’t doing it during or directly after sex where you could not orgasm. But directly after only counts if you start within 1 minute of the sex ending. But then you can only masturbate for 7 minutes after you are done have sex, otherwise it becomes a sin again. Then the man can pleasure you, but only if you have sex again, and then you will be able to masturbate again, but not if you are thinking about impure thoughts, unless they are impure thoughts about your husband, but the husband must know about this, and if you are thinking impure thoughts about your husband, they are actually pure, and you can go and masturbate again, but only for the 7 minutes mentioned before, starting within 1 minute of being done with sex, but only if no orgasm was achieved…if an orgasm was achieved, but the woman wants to have another, it is a mortal sin and she will be guilty of mortal sin.

Anyway, do you guys see how stupid this is? This is pretty much what is going on in this thread. You guys are worse than the Jews that won’t use the phone on the sabbath because pressing buttons is considered work. Everyone on this board is WAY too scrupulous. There is no need to analyze every little thing you do and make yourself crazy wondering if it is a sin. Have good intentions, be a good person, love Jesus and your neighbor with the best of your ability, and that is all you have to worry about.
I see what you are saying hellopeople…and it is quite the struggle for me. The rules on sex within marriage come across very Pharisaical…and I’m really tired of feeling like a bad Catholic when my husband and I can’t follow them.

The problem is we focus on the rules, and a state of perfection that we as sinners can never achieve, and we don’t spend enough time tying this to Divine Mercy which is available to all of us who fail in achieving perfection.

I find this especially true of this forum, where compassion is distinctly lacking, and finger-pointers and judges are hiding behind the cloak of anonymity.

Thank God my own confessor is not like that. Whenever I go to him, about any sin sex-related or otherwise, and show or state my hopelessness, he openly says that I need to accept myself as I am, and not lose hope in Christ’s mercy, that sainthood is in the effort, not the result.

We need to take this forum with a very large grain of salt.

Seriously. It seems like every time I read something on this forum it drives me further from the church.
I think it comes down to what is more important, living by Gods will, or throwing that out the window and looking for ways to justify our prefered lifestyles. The fact of the matter is the Church condems masturbation as disordered for good reason, because it’s a selfish act, and such selfish self gratifying acts always have immensly negitive consequences, which has been discussed at length in this thread.

I want to follow God. But I doubt the supremacy of the church.

***Who are you to say that? You are not the Magisterium; you are not Christ who gave us the Magisterium. Why play games with God and dare to tell Him what you are going to do as opposed to obeying Him even when it seems strange or inconvenient?

Masturbation is nothing like claiming that pushing buttons is work. The latter is genuinely scrupulosity as pushing buttons is pushing buttons***; no amount of pressing little plastic objects on a telephone can constitute an abuse of something God gave us as part of our human bodies for a sacred purpose, that of procreation and the expression of marital love.

It’s not being nitpicky - it’s genuinely trying to pursue holiness and discern the will of God for us. Those who discuss masturbation or any other sin and try to understand the Church’s reasons (id est, God’s reasons) for forbidding this act are taking their salvation seriously and taking their faith seriously. That is to be praised, not condemned.

Indeed; and since God used the Roman Catholic Church to give us the Bible to begin with (in 386, at the Council of Rome), it stands to reason God used and continues to use the Church to give us all of His teachings on morality and faith. It makes no sense to accept the Bible but reject the rest of Catholic teaching, since both came to us from the same God and through the same Church.
excellent!!! 🙂

Jesus is talking to all his apostles here in John 16:12-13 who were the first bishops of the Church.

Yes, Jesus is telling Peter that he is the authority over the Church. The first pope. The apostles are their to help Peter as bishops. It would not have made any sense for Jesus to tell Peter to build my Church and not have others to succeed him when he dies. Have you read the acts of the apostles? It is all about the early Church. We are one, holy, apostolic Church. Jesus gave the pope the authority to make the rules. They are not just men making the rules they are in Persona Christi and always being guided by the Holy Spirit. I am so thankful to Jesus for giving us his Church and the popes. Yes, we are all sinners but the teachings on faith and morals( doctrines and dogmas) have never been changed for 2010 years.

Yes, they do; just because more than half of Christians believe X doesn’t make X right, you see? All that matters is what God wants of us and how well we adhere to that, despite the personal inconvenience.

No one needs to feel like a “bad Catholic” because God, through the Church, requires sexual discipline of us and we fail to measure up. We do, however, need to feel the desire to put God first and ourselves last in order to truly live as Christ wants when He said that unless we take up our crosses and follow Him, we are not worthy of Him.

The strong spiritual disciplines of elder times produced an era of saints and crusaders and great theologians. Today, in a world of loose morals, no discipline, and weak faith, we have no saints, no theologians, no crusaders - nothing remarkable. That is no accident and if it takes not playing with myself in order to help bring back such a world, then so be it. Masturbation is not that important.

Why don’t we all just beat ourselves half to death like that crazed priest in The DaVinci Code? Some of the posters here seem to think that’s the only way to Heaven.

you actually put legitimacy to the DaVinci code!!!

I don’t think this is true. The crusades wouldn’t mesh with today’s catholic morals in the least.

The crusades were not a “teaching”. It has nothing to do with change in what the Church teaches as moral. If you think so, I don’t believe you really know what the “crusades” were. This is off topic, so use the search feature to find multiple threads on this topic.
