Is touching the private area WITHOUT the intent/result of sexual gratification considered masterbation?

what if you are cleansing the private area?

No.

Wash and rinse well.

…and pat dry.
OOPS! Yes, no friction with the towel! 😃

I really don’t mean to make light of the OP’s question since if it asked with sincerity it exhibits an extreme sense of scrupulosity. Our genitals are a part of our bodies and touching them is not a sin even if the touch brings some pleasure. It is when pleasure is sought that it can become sinful. But in the normal course of our daily living we should not be paranoid if we touch our genitals. This distorts the understanding of sin and needs to be addressed…peace…teachccd 🙂

St Thomas Aquinas in his dialectic has the discussion is a unintentional release a sin, that is one of the arguments, and NO that is your baseline for it not being a sin, The Dream and you are having sex and that causes a release, that is not a sin if it is not willed. ie, you find yourself in a dream where you are in the act of intercouse
accordingly having no dream and having a release is not sinful either. Its non-volitional. Your testacles are full or what have you…

However, oddly enough when I am dreaming about women I am always faced with the choice to start having sex in my dreams. God always stops my dream to present the question to me. So that would be a sin , because I have said yes at that point and started having sex in my dream.

By St. Thomas Aquinas it is the untintentional release that is not sinful, but all other is…
Save with your Wife and in the Act, that is not sinful.
