I am finishing up my bachelor of engineering degree and I am seriously considering grad school. I am uncertain of my vocation, and I am open to going to seminary. If I decide to not go to seminary, I think that having a Masters in Philosophy will be somewhat useful in my engineering field.

My question is how much will a Masters in Philosophy help with seminary?

You will be required to have 30 hours in philosophy and 12 hours in theology. Seminarians who have bachelor degrees but not the required number of philosophy or theology hours are admitted to the pre-theology program until that requirement is satisfied then they are admitted to a major seminary.

But, as always, talk with the vocations director for your diocese or the religious order you are interested in to see what would be best for your circumstances.
