Is this an act of sin?
I don’t know - it sounds very cleansing to me.Is this an act of sin?
By who’s standards…yours or God’s?It should not be though.
It is grave matter. It does not become a grave sin unless the other two components are present. And if you review the CCC section that is in one of the upper posts you will find that there are circumstances whereby the culpability of the sin is reduced. Masturbation CAN be a grave sin indeed. But we cannot say that it is for all or we would be ignoring the teachings found in the Catechism…teachccdYes, masturbation is a grave sin.
lolzalicious! No really it sounds like a new energy drink.I don’t know - it sounds very cleansing to me.![]()

Let’s say you buy an expensive device. The instructions that come with the device, that are written by the designer of the device, tell you that you will ruin the device if you use it underwater. You think it should be used underwater, so, you use it underwater. You ruin the device. Do you go back and say “but it should not be that way. I should be able to use this however I want.” That would be silly. The designer KNOWS how the system will work, and what will ruin it.It should not be though.
LOL! If our “devices” literally broke then I can see a higher motivation for people to quit masturbation. But that is a good way of putting it. I always saw it as yourself lying to your body.Let’s say you buy an expensive device. God designed the human person, He knows how our sexuality is to be used. It is best to follow the manufacturers instructions, or you will ruin the device and void the warranty.
Yes, God knows, but human beings being the imperfect beings that they are, will often misunderstand God’s Word, or will use it to their advantage to support their interests, and I personally believe that’s happened here.God designed the human person, He knows how our sexuality is to be used. It is best to follow the manufacturers instructions, or you will ruin the device and void the warranty.
I confess it if I do it, cause the church says it is a sin, I personally dont think it is.I think its a perfectly natural functionIt should not be though.
So is passing gas. But isn’t there a time and a place for even this a most natural function?? If we put restrictions for ourselves with passing gas then can’t God put restrictions on other “natural functions”?I confess it if I do it, cause the church says it is a sin, I personally dont think it is.I think its a perfectly natural function
I do not believe it is a sin, I think it is something that most men do up until they die, God gave us all our sexuality. There is such a thing as sexual frustration, people need a release. As far as passing gas, how can we have any control over that. We are mortals, God knew we would sin, Thats why he Sent his son to redeem usSo is passing gas. But isn’t there a time and a place for even this a most natural function?? If we put restrictions for ourselves with passing gas then can’t God put restrictions on other “natural functions”?
It is astounding, but GOD knows this and the Bible speaks to that very thingThere is such a thing as sexual frustration, people need a release.
That pertains to fornication, which in a way I dont even think thats sinful, my opinion only, but if I should commit it I will confess it. Again, God Knows man is weak, He knows man cannot control himself, again , thats why he sacrificed his Son for our sins, & the sins of all mankind. When You we look at life, & look at men & women, you can see that they were not meant to sit around with halos & twiddle their thumbs. We all go thru different stages of life, where we all do different sins, I think its suposed to be. I once heard a Priest say man is not as bad as he thinks he is, the greatest commandment is to love one another as I have loved you, only my opinion-]/-]

1 Corinthians, Chapter 7:
8** Now to the unmarried and to widows, I say: it is a good thing for them to remain as they are, as I do,**
9** but if they cannot exercise self-control they should marry, for it is better to marry than to be on fire.**
I would suggest some study into the Faith. When You we look at life, & look at men & women, you can see that they were not meant to sit around with halos & twiddle their thumbs. We all go thru different stages of life, where we all do different sins, I think its suposed to be.
This is the best answer!-]/-]

I Know about the faith, I am a churchgoer, Catholic of course, but I also see how catholics behave cohabitating for yrs then wanting a catholic marriage use of artificial birth control, big time fornicators ETC, getting married in church, them 6 mos later divorce or anullment ETC. But we are mere mortals, & we need forgiveness for the things we do, we even know that within the church they cant contain themselves, so confession is available to them tooI would suggest some study into the Faith.
God created man in His likeness. Man was never “suposed to” sin.
The desire to sin, to commit sexual sins as well as any other kind of sin, comes from satan. We are to reject satan and all of his false promises.
We were created to know, love and serve God. Our purpose is to live with God forever. We are “meant to” be the walking, talking, living, breathing, sons and daughters of God on this earth.
The “everybody else does it” justification did not work with my dad when I was a kid, and it does not work here. Other people sin, that does not give me a license to do the same.I Know about the faith, I am a churchgoer, Catholic of course, but I also see how catholics behave cohabitating for yrs then wanting a catholic marriage use of artificial birth control, big time fornicators ETC, getting married in church, them 6 mos later divorce or anullment ETC.
