the catechism says masturbation is a sin but I can’t find a biblical scripture to support that, plus how can one stop masturbating? its seems impossible like for me thoughts enter my mind and they never leave until i masturbate and find release from sexual tensions.

Masturbation is also called Onanism, because of this passage:
He knowing that the children should not be his, when he went in to his brother’s wife, spilled his seed upon the ground, lest children should be born in his brother’s name. And therefore the Lord slew him, because he did a detestable thing. -Genesis 38:9-10
It can be hard to purge your mind of these thoughts. Prayer can help, as well as finding other things to do. There is a group here for those who are addicted to impure thoughts if you want to join it 🙂

The best verse I have is this Genesis 38:8.

It can be interpretted in a variety of ways, and reasons why God slew the man. Some say it was because of his greed, but think about the way it is written. “So he spilled his seed on the ground. God found this unpleasing and slew him.”

It is hard. Trust me, Im 15, and was addicted for a few years. I managed to stop. You are in my prayers.

there is usually a lot of impure thoughts that accompanies the action that are also sinful.

you usually hear the catechism misquoted. The explanation of “culpability” for M varies a lot, depending on addiction to it and such. It is not a black and white case of M being a mortal sin.

The Jewish community is split on the question, some saying it is not a sin and its practice is a result in our culture not only of the pervasive sexual content of our environment, but of the later age of marriage than was practiced in Biblical times.

Notwithstanding that, the Catholic Church stands firm in teaching that M is wrong in all cases.
