Masturbation Addiction

Pray3x · Sep 16, 2015

Hi everyone,

After 22 years of not masturbating, I’ve succumb to my sexual temptations and started masturbating.

I want to stop, however it seems like I’m addicted.

I would like to ask for prayers for the strength and willpower to fight this sinful act.

I would also like to ask for prayers for God’s forgiveness, mercy, and love.

Thank you all, I pray for all of you each day, God Bless!

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Sorry to hear that Pray3x

I am in the same boat, I’ve been addicted for about 15 years. I would encourage you to talk to somebody about it in person that you trust, or if you don’t have someone you’re comfortable telling, maybe a counselor. I hid it out of shame for a long time, and keeping it to myself only postponed any chance of recovery. God bless you for the courage to ask for help and prayers.

Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed it the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for Pray3x,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

THE PRAYER,
MEMORABLE JESUS< MARY AND JOSEPH.

Remember, Heart of Jesus,
Immaculate Heart of Mary,
and you, O glorious St. Joseph,
that no one has ever had recourse to your protection,
or implored your assistance without obtaining relief.
Animated with the utmost lively confidence,
I come laden with the weight of my sins,
to prostrate myself before you.
O Merciful Heart of Jesus,
Immaculate Heart of Mary,
and you, O glorious St. Joseph,
reject not my prayer and petitions
but graciously hear and grant them.

Amen.

The Memorare
Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known,
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help
or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To thee I come, before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petition,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.
V. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray. O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

**Prayer to the Holy Spirit by Saint Antiochus **
O Holy Spirit,
most merciful Comforter:
You proceed from the Father
in a manner beyond our understanding.
Come, I beseech You,
and take up your abode in my heart.
Purify and cleanse me from all sin,
and sanctify my soul.
Cleanse it from every impurity,
water its dryness,
melt its coldness,
and save it from its sinful ways.
Make me truly humble and resigned,
that I may be pleasing to You,
and that You might abide with me forever.
Most Blessed Light,
most Amiable Light,
enlighten me.
O Rapturous Joy of Paradise,
Fount of Purest Delight,
My God, give yourself to me
and kindle in my innermost soul the fire of Your love.
My Lord, instruct, direct,
and defend me in all things.
Give me strength against all immoderate fears
and against despondency.
Bestow upon me a true faith,
a firm hope,
and a sincere and a perfect love.
Grant that I always do Your Most Gracious Will.

Amen.

Praying . . .

Acordaos (Memorare)
Acordaos, ¡oh piadosísima Virgen María!,
que jamás se ha oído decir
que ninguno de los que han acudido
a vuestra protección,
implorando vuestro auxilio,
antes bien, escuchadlas
y acogedlas benignamente.

Que allí donde haya odio, ponga yo amor;
Donde haya ofensa, ponga perdón;
Donde haya discordia, ponga unión;
Donde haya error, ponga verdad;
Donde haya duda, ponga fe;
Donde haya desesperación, ponga esperanza;
Donde haya tinieblas, ponga vuestra luz;
Donde haya tristeza, ponga yo alegría.

¡Oh, maestro!
Que no me empeñe tanto
en ser consolado como en consolar;
en ser comprendido como en comprender;
en ser amado como en amar,
pues dando, se recibe,
olvidando, se encuentra,
perdonando, se es perdonado,
muriendo, se resucita a la vida eterna.

Hail Holy Queen**
Hail, Holy Queen,
Mother of Mercy,
hail our life, our sweetness and our hope!
To thee do we cry
poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping
in this vale of tears.
Turn then,
O most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy towards us
and after this our exile
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb,
Jesus;
O clement,
O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.
V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Litany of Humility
O Jesus! meek and humble of heart,Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,**
Deliver me, Jesus.**
From the desire of being loved…
From the desire of being extolled …
From the desire of being honored …
From the desire of being praised …
From the desire of being preferred to others…
From the desire of being consulted …
From the desire of being approved …
From the fear of being humiliated …
From the fear of being despised…
From the fear of suffering rebukes …
From the fear of being calumniated …
From the fear of being forgotten …
From the fear of being ridiculed …
From the fear of being wronged …
From the fear of being suspected …

That others may be loved more than I,**
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.**
That others may be esteemed more than I …
That, in the opinion of the world,
others may increase and I may decrease …
That others may be chosen and I set aside …
That others may be praised and I unnoticed …
That others may be preferred to me in everything…
That others may become holier than I,provided that I may become as holy as I should…

Praying…****
A PRAYER OF RESOLUTION

Adorable Jesus, my Savior and Master, model of all perfection,
I resolve—and will try this day—to imitate Your example,
to be like You, mild, humble, chaste, zealous, charitable, and resigned.
I will redouble my efforts to see Your image in all those I meet and deal with this day,
and to be as helpful to them as I would be to You.
I resolve to avoid this day all those sins which I have committed heretofore
and which I now sincerely desire to give up forever.
Amen.

**Prayer Against Depression
**………….By St Ignatius of Loyola
O Christ Jesus
When all is darkness
And we feel our weakness and helplessness,
Give us the sense of Your Presence,
Your Love and Your Strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
In Your protecting love
And strengthening power,
So that nothing may frighten or worry us,
For, living close to You,
We shall see Your Hand,
Your Purpose, Your Will through all things.
:signofcross:

Let Nothing Disturb You
Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.

Patience,
Obtains all things,
Whoever has God
Lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.
