In this case, it was a matter of the Pharisees feigning the dedication of their goods to the Temple so they could avoid using them to support their aged parents. Basically, every church has traditions. One needs to examine their traditions to see how they agree with scripture.
I Thess 5:21 tells us to prove all things, and hold onto what is good.
This is not a questioning of things to reject them, it is a testing of things to see what is true and good, and grab hold of that.
Jesus as a Jew lived traditions as they were practiced in the festivals. For example, I think it was the festival of lights that came from Maccabbees. So, we have Jesus himself celebrating a Tradition, so clearly he did not poop poo all traditions.

Hanukkah is also mentioned in the deuterocanonical books of 1 Maccabees and 2 Maccabees. 1 Maccabees states: “For eight days they celebrated the rededication of the altar. Then Judah and his brothers and the entire congregation of Israel decreed that the days of the rededication…should be observed…every year…for eight days. (1 Mac.4:56-59)” According to 2 Maccabees, “the Jews celebrated joyfully for eight days as on the feast of Booths.”
That’s an interesting question. The Holy Scripture gives us three of them: the above mentioned discussion upon Moses body between Michael and demon ( Apostle Juda’s Epistle 1:9 ), and the Tradition that Prophets of the Old Testament claimed Messiah will be called “Nazarethian” ( Gospel of Matthew 2:23 ). There is also a trace of Tradition in 1 Corithans 10:4 where the spiritual rock giving water is mentioned. It is a Tradition that Jews were drinking water from a moving rock with a source. However,there is no mentioning of that in the Scriptures. Paul takes given Tradition as a metaphorical talk of Jesus and the fact that Israel survived because of having faith in coming of Messiah.Has anyone put together an article on the traditions that Jesus lived? honored?
