Specifically, what is the meaning of “this cup might pass?”
Although Christ was willing to submit to the father’s will and suffer and die, I doubt very much that his human side or his divine side wanted to endure such pains. Basically, he was asking God if he could avoid the intense pain he was about to suffer on our behalf. He followed up with “not my will, but yours…” meaning that, whatever God chose, he would honor the father by submitting to His will.Specifically, what is the meaning of “this cup might pass?”
I might not have found this passage if not for your question; it’s amazing. Thanks.Specifically, what is the meaning of “this cup might pass?”
He was thinking about all the ungrateful people who wouldn’t care about his crucifixion.Specifically, what is the meaning of “this cup might pass?”
I think Dr. Hahn explains it definitively. He is world class Bible expert.Listen here:

The Fourth Cup is the cup that Christ refused to drink during the Last Supper. It would have concluded the Passover He was celebrating. But His Passover was not completed until He died on the Cross. This is also why one of His last acts on the Cross was to drink the wine to complete the Last Supper.
Listen very intently, and listen multiple times. It will help you to understand that the Last Supper, the Eucharist, the Crucifixion, and Resurrection are all interrelated. They are one continuous, perpetual sacrifice to the Father, and if you don’t understand one of them, you won’t fully understand any of them.
Yes the lukewarm. He was thinking about all the ungrateful people who wouldn’t care about his crucifixion.
