Okay, so I need to know, where do you all buy yours? What brand do you have?

Ours are all falling apart at the sides (on all the beds in our house) where you wrap it around the corners of the bed. I need to buy some new, good ones but don’t want to fall into the trap of buying more that are going to fall apart on the corners (holes in them on the sides, etc.😦 ). I get very frustrated everytime I wash them and have to put them back on since the corners are torn. And no, they aren’t even that old!! Maybe 2 years old at the most :o .

Any advice would be great!! 👍

2 years is not that bad for something used 8 hrs every day and washed frequently, which gets wear on the sides and corners from sliding in and out of bed.

I buy allergy proof pads and pillow covers from an online catalog for asthma sufferers, and they last about 4 years.

I buy all of our bedding at the nearest outlet mall.
Some usually have small defects, but the only thing that is “seeing” it is usually my feet.

Four years ago I bought a very lovely, super soft matress cover for my bed made by Ralph Lauren. It has lasted so well not a single tear, rip or anything anywhere on it. It has satiny stretchy sides and a cotton top.

I wish they made them small enough for a crib mattress because those are the ones in my house that the corners are all ripped up.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply!! 😉

It was a great help! 👍 I have Wal-Mart brand ones (I think that’s where I bought them). The sides are that nasty stretchy material that feels gross to touch so I was looking for some that didn’t have that type of material on the sides (I am guessing the more pricier ones are probably made w/ out that nasty material).

Does this make sense? (sorry, not sure what the material is called, that is why I said nasty:blush: )🤷

I know what you are talking about by being “nasty”, it’s the “if my hands are the least bit dry they catch on them”. I think it is a kind of nylon but can’t guarantee it.

The last mattress pad I bought for my bed was through JCPenney’s catalog and it was the allergy proof one, the corners are starting to wear but I have had it for a good four years. The twin beds both have mattress pads from Target - the allergy proof ones as well (all cotton -very tight weave). You can get these mattress pads at Wal-mart - I believe the brand is “Allergen”, just don’t quote me on it. You won’t find them near all the other mattress pads, they are usually hanging on a wall with the pillow cases too.

I got a really nice foam mattress from Wal-Mart that DH and I really enjoy.

I had a cheap-o mattress pad from Wal-mart that I used for several years and really loved it. We have a pillow top mattress pad now, my in-laws got it for us for Christmas a few years ago. It’s amazingly comfy!

I have a mattress pad from the Vermont Country Store–it was pretty expensive, but that is because it’s an electric pad. I just love it–turn it on half an hour before going to bed and you crawl into a cozy, warm nest. For someone with arthritis and osteoporosis nothing could be better for aching bones…👍
