Okay, so I was watching a video from the followers of the May 21 “End of the World” conspiracy, and one guy said, “The reason the Church is in such bad shape is because God has removed His hand from it and has brought judgement.” So, were these people once Catholics themselves?

This is one more reason why Jesus commanded One Church, One Faith. Today, because of so many voices, Catholics can easily be misleds by these strange voices. God never intended to have so many different teachings about the Faith He has given His Church. Catholics live in dangerous times. We must stop looking elsewhere besides the CC. We as Catholics should make sure that we only hear things Catholics and no one else. The CC is the school we need for all things.

Many of those in “The End Times Club” are somewhat anti Catholic and it’s true that LOTS of anti Catholics are just ex Catholics trying to “evil-ize” the Church so they can hopefully feel better about leaving it. They tend to identify false prophet of Revelation 13 with the Pope, and the Church with the whore of Babylon.

Assuming the whore of Babylon is a religious organization I think it would include any form of worship that falls short of the following passage:
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Anything short of what’s described in those verses will fall upon the return of Christ.

Is it fair to say that we Catholics ourselves have not yet attained the perfect form of worship “in spirit and truth” which we know our God truly deserves?

That the way all Christians worship God now will seem miserable by comparison, when Christ returns and when we finally get to see God in all His infinite glory?

I saw an article today that interviewed the receptionist at the radio station he owns and she said that about 80% of the people working there do not believe this prediction. There are about 350 employees. She is also setting up appointments for much later on. The production company that broadcasts his shows has them taped through the end of the month. They have no plans to give up the contract.

Luke 21:8 “But he said, 'Take care not to be deceived, because many will come using my name and saying, ‘I am the one’ and ‘The time is near at hand.’ Refuse to join them.” I think when it says that they will say “The time is near at hand” is like when people will try to guess when Jesus will come back like this prediction of May 21.

My biggest aggravation with this group is that those who might be considering Christianity, but don’t know an awful lot about it are going to be looking at this group as some sort of mouthpiece for the Christian faith et all. And when things don’t happen on the 21st (as they won’t), they’ll simply look at all Christians, including Catholics, as just a bunch of nut job yahoos that bark at the sun. They won’t give Christianity even another thought. All thanks to Harold Camping.
It might delay some, but the true seeker will find the truth, there’s plenty of faithful shepards on call! 🙂

I don’t think he is talking about the Church (Catholic Church) as we would. Camping urges believers to leave the church (all denominations) because the true gospel is no longer being preached.

I must say this ,

This Kind of Christianity has made more damage to the religion then you think

I saw video in arabic , saying that pope john paul ii will come back to life and he is anti-christ !!

and now this guy say may 21st is the end of the world

for God sake don’t play with the bible and call yourself christan !!

Thank God for the catholic church

I am sick of this churchs

Camping was a member of the Christian Reformed Church; he was thrown out in 1988, and perhaps not so coincidentally that is the date he claims God stopped using the churches.

Now it’s officially Saturday May 21, 2011 all around the world !!!

where is JESUS?

This guy is a joke. Harold Camping reminds me of Ellen White’s following William Millers false prophecys. He stated the world was ending in the 1800’s and had a somewhat following. And when the day came he stated that today wasn’t the day because Jesus was setting up the Heavenly Santurary. What upsurd comment? And people believe him too!?

No one knows the time or date when Jesus will return. That’s why personal interpertation of the Bible is a joke. This is going to generate so many unbelievers but to those that believe this stop now because Harold Camping is leading you astray.

Catholicism is true because it’s Scripture and Tradition. I wonder what Pope Benendict thinks of this?

6 PM Folks. It’s not 6 PM in NY yet. 🙂

Speaking of that, I wanted to check out a vespers service, but my 13 year old daughter kind of believes this kook so it wouldn’t be nice of me to leave her alone with her bros and sisters to go to 6 PM vespers.

At what point does it dawn on you just how foolish you been thinking that your insignificant self could predict the movement of GOD?

Talk about pride. This is a guy you want to avoid like the plague, not follow.

That only proves that people can be easily misled. Some people believe anything but the Truth.

They rather believe in some guy than believe in the CC.

It would be very interesting to see if this “prophet”:rotfl:, who should believe in helping the poor since he’s a Christian pulled ALL his money from all his accounts and gave it to the poor to ease their pain for these last days.

If he didn’t, then I think it’s safe to assume he didn’t believe his OWN prophecy.

Heard that with all the donations he is worth well over 70 million so “disappearing” wouldn’t be too hard for Harold Camping.

I feel horrible for all of his followers who have given up their homes, jobs and life-savings…now they are left with nothing & need help both temporal & spiritual help. How can we Catholics find them & reach out to them?
