I knew Harry was predicting 2011 to be the end, but I didn’t know he had actually -again - set a firm date.

what’s May 21st, passover or something?? Only 7 months away folks.
wonder if he’ll set a third date on May 22…

I haven’t read through everything, but he does it somehow with numbers (all the indented was written by H. Camping)

“1. The crucifixion of Jesus was on the 14th day of the first month of A.D.
33. This was Nisan 14, A.D. 33, of the Biblical calendar, and was April 1, A.D.
33, of our modern calendar.
2. The church age officially began on the following Pentecost, which
was May 22, A.D. 33.
3. The church age ended and the 8,400-day great tribulation began the
day before Pentecost in 1988, which was May 21, 1988.
4. The first 2,300 days of the great tribulation began on May 21, 1988,
and ended on September 7, 1994.
5. The second part of the great tribulation, which consists of 6,100 days
(8,400 - 2,300 = 6,100), began on September 7, 1994, and ends on May 21, 2011.
6. The final five months of the earth’s history begins on May 21, 2011,
and will end on October 21, 2011.”

“What year would be exactly 7,000 years after the flood of Noah’s day?
Would you believe it! Long ago we learned that the flood occurred in the year
4990 B.C., and 7,000 years later brings us to the year 2011. Remember, we add
the Old Testament years to the New Testament years and subtract 1 year,

4990 + 2011 - 1 = 7,000 years
Thus, we must understand that God is definitely declaring that He
expects that all of the elect of God would absolutely know that the year 2011 is
to be the end of the world.”

Incidentally while I was looking for his method of date setting I found this wierd take on Rev 9:

In Revelation 9:3-11 God speaks of the raptured true believers as locusts
with the sting of a scorpion hurting those left behind. Even though those left behind
(the unsaved) will only on the first day of the Day of Judgment witness the Rapture of
the true believers, as long as they remain alive during the Day of Judgment the memory
of seeing the true believers raptured while they are left behind will be like repeated
stings of a scorpion. The locusts have as their king Abaddon (destruction) and Apollyon
(destroyer) **because God is their King ** and He is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29).

i love this stuff! the guys got a few more wrinkles since ive seen him last! thank you brother. you just made my army day. and just for this, on the day following this, i will pop a top, and have a beer in honor of yet another failed false prophecy…assuming i dont get shot or blown up, or killed in a wreck before then… Peace to you and yours

Hi John7: I’m not challenging anyone, so don’t misunderstand me, but I was wondering how he came up with precise months and days for the crucifixion, the Pentecost and the exact year Noah’s flood? I didn’t know that there had been any consensus on any of that. I had always thought that the months and days of the crucifixion and Pentecost were uncertain.

Is it true that these dates have been verified? If so, then I’ve learned something again. If not, then does he explain how he came up with those dates?

Oh my goodness - doesn’t the date gymnastics remind me of my JW days, LOL. OT but wanted to say that it appears the JWs are doing it again by changing the meaning of the ‘generation’ that saw Christ ‘return’ in 1914 (I think that was the date). Interesting reasoning…

I don’t see his calculations account for the change from the Julian to Gregorian calendar, nor has he made any adjustment I can see from the Hebrew calendar to the Julian, or the fact that the Julian calendar itself was a recent innovation in the 1st century.

Camping’s Biblical study regarding time and Christ’s second coming is based on the cycles of:

* Jewish feast days in the Hebrew calendar, as described in the Old Testament,
* the lunar month calendar (1 month = 29.53059 days), and
* the Gregorian calendar (1 year = 365.2422 days).

He projects these into modern times and combines the results with other information in the Bible.

Camping calculates that the crucifixion of Christ took place on Friday April 1, AD 33. Other students of the subject have placed the event in AD 29, 30, or 31.

In 1992, Camping published a book titled 1994?, in which he proclaimed that Christ’s return might be on September 6, 1994. In that publication, he also mentioned that 2011 could be the end. As a result, some individuals have criticized him for “date-setting.”
