I’ve been hearing that our new bishop (he’s already a bishop) will be installed at a local church that has larger seating capacity than our cathedral. Can he be enthroned somewhere where his Cathedra isn’t?
Certainly he can, if he has a good reason and the church is in his diocese. His chair is symbolic of his authority over the whole diocese. He rules from it where ever he is.
