Except that is it not illicit or unorthodox.
Of course it isn’t…that wasn’t the point or intent of my post…please see early post in response to another similar observation.

At my EF Sunday Mass or any EF Mass at my parish for that matter, only the priests distribute communion, with one priest leaving the confessional to help the celebrating priest distribute due to the large number of communicants.

Get two deacons, and you have the setup for a Solemn Mass every time.
Yes but I believe a layman may act in the subdeacon’s role of presenting the epistle, etc.

I’ll have to double-check.
Instituted acolyte. Since the FSSP still performs the ordinations to minor orders, “straw” subdeacons are sometimes used among those who have been ordained Acolyte or higher. In other cases, those instituted according to the Roman Ritual can also be used.

The “straw” subdeacon, not being in major orders, does not wear a maniple, although vested in everything else.

Actually, I think if everyone in the Church tried to be holier than the Church that’d be great. I don’t find the Church hierarchy at current the best measure for zeal.
That isn’t what I meant at all (and I think you know that already).

But let me clarify, I don’t mean holiness which we are all called to.

I mean finding fault in the practices of priests, deacons, and lay people because they don’t meet your imagined standards of Catholicity— when said standards and ideas are in fact NOT Catholic teachings or disciplines.
