May a lay person transfer the Eucharist to the tabernacle?

We have adoration everynight at my church, however instead of the priest coming at the end of the night to transfer the Blessed Sacrament from the monstrance to the Tabernacle, one of the lay adorers does this. Is the practice in line with Church teaching? Shouldn’t Fr. be doing this since he is available to do it at this time every evening?

Yes, the bishop can dipute a lay person to transfer the BLessed Sacrament to the tabernacle. Don’t assume that father has a lot of time to do this.
