May a man who is incarcerated become a priest?

I am writing a story and I am wondering if a person who is incarcerated could recieve Holy Orders? In the story the guy is in prison for a murder he didn’t commit, so he wouldn’t be able to confess and recieve absolution for the crime that he is imprisoned for.
 
Hi,

It is possible that a man was has been incarcerated could eventually be ordained a priest. It would really depend on what he was incarcerated for. If he had committed murder, it is not likely that he would ever be eligible for ordination.
