A friend of mine mentioned that she understood that Catholics may receive “communion” from the Anglican church, if there is no Catholic church available from which to receive.

Can anyone clarify this please?

Hi,

She has her churches confused. Catholics may receive the Eucharist in an Eastern Orthodox Church if no Catholic Churches are in the area. But the Catholic Church does not consider Anglican eucharist to be valid. It is only more recently that there are more traditional Anglican churches. For most of their history the Anglican churches have been very Protestant in their beliefs and church services.
