May I, as a former Mormon, be re-baptized?

Hello. I am currently involved in RCIA, and had a question about baptism. I was brought up in an abusive (physically, psychologically, sexually) household to Mormon parents who had me baptized at age 8. As the man who baptized me was one of my abusers, I would really like to be baptized again, properly into the Catholic Church. Is this permissible? Thanks

Hi

If you want to become a Catholic, the you will HAVE to be baptized again because the Catholic Church does not recognize Mormon baptism as valid since it’s understanding of the Trinity is so from what Christians believe. Welcome home!
