May I be a baptismal Godmother to my non-Catholic friend's baby?

:Recently a very dear friend of mine asked me to be a godmother to her children. To the five she has now, it would really be more an “unofficial” godmother since they have most likely already been baptized. However, she is now expecting her sixth. My friend is a fallen away Catholic and attends a non-denominational church. Now, I know that a non-Catholic cannot be a godparent to a baby that is being raised Catholic, but can a Catholic be a godparent to a child that will most likely be raised in no religion at all? 🤷 Thank you for your time! Sincerely, Regina

Hi,

Sure, if your friend understands that in conscience you could not foster any faith but the Catholic faith in them should she die.
