May I bring the Eucharist to someone who works on Sundays?

I have been an EMHC at my home parish but have moved and am no longer involved.

I have a dear friend who must work every other weekend and there is no way possible for this friend to make Mass.

I realize tis friend isn’t culpable for having to work.

My question is:

Would it be permissible for me to carry communion to my friend who would be very appreciative or is it simply unnecessary?

Hi,

If your friend isn’t ill, then he or she is capable of attending Mass during the week. As a extraordinary minister of the Eucharist you do not have permission to bring the Eucharist to people outside of Mass unless they are homebound or ill–especially since you are no longer active in that ministry.
