May I drink water to wash down a Communion host?

I sometimes have a problem with dry mouth in the mornings, so it’s not uncommon that a sizeable chunk of the host gets stuck to the roof of my mouth after I receive Communion. Usually I can eventually scrape it off the roof of my mouth with my tongue, but there have been times when it has taken over an hour after Mass to produce enough saliva to get it unstuck. This is problematic, as I know I can’t eat with it still in my mouth, so I was wondering if it’s permissible to drink water with it still in my mouth.

Yes. However, if you can do so discreetly so as to avoid unnecessary scandal, it might be a better option to carry a water bottle and take a drink of water before entering the Communion line.
