May I follow an horarium?

I’m a homemaker, and I was wondering if I may make a horarium to follow every day. I don’t have any children, and with the exception of house keeping and tending to loved ones, my time is pretty much free. I find more and more that I long to spend time with Jesus throughout the day, through prayer, worship, reading the Bible, praying for the world, devotions such as the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy, reading about the saints, offering up my housework to God, developing the gift for piano, etc. Personally, I find it would be helpful to create a schedule, as without it I may find myself less focused. Is this permissible?

According to Wikipedia an horarium “is the name given to the daily schedule of those living in a religious community” (source). I don’t recommend attempting to set up such a schedule on your own, but rather recommend that you consider finding an orthodox and balanced confessor and/or spiritual director to assist you in doing so. Doing so on your own could be an occasion of scrupulosity. On the positive side, having a spiritual director can provide accountability.
