Hi. I am catholic and so my boyfriend, and we are planning to get married by the catholic church.
I was married before in a Lutheran church. My ex-husband was not lutheran or catholic, he had no religion, but liked to go there and we decided to marry at the lutheran church, it was a faster process too. Then we divorced.
Now I am wondering if I can re- marry in the catholic church.

So, I am catholic but I married in a Lutheran church in the past. Can I get married again in my church (catholic)? Do I really need an annulement or can I get another solution?
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it.

Patty,

These links should give you same basic information to use when approaching your priest to discuss this, which I encourage you to do. The second link only pertains to you if you or your ex-husband were not baptized at the time of your marriage. If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please contact Catholic Answers directly.
