Ash Wednesday is coming, I know that the “Catholic Priests usually place blessed ashes in form of the cross on individuals’ foreheads to remind them of mortality, sorrow for sins, change, and forgiveness.” But I wasn’t baptized because I wasn’t born in a Christian family. But I am going to be a Catholic. So my question is that "Can I let priest place bless ashes on my forehead if I’m not baptized? Do we have to let the priest place blessed ashes on our foreheads? " I know that I can’t receive Eucharist now, so I don’t know whether I can do it or not.

Dear friend,

The cross of ashes, marked on the forehead is simply a symbol and anyone may receive it. If you are at Mass on Ash Wednesday, you make walk up and receive ashes on your forehead. You are in our prayers. Welcome home!
