May I receive Communion if I don't believe in transubstantiation?

I converted to Catholicism from a Protestant religion because my husband is Catholic. There are some things that I do not understand and need clarification. Transubstantiation is one of them. Thank you.
 
Hi,

It doesn’t sound so much that you don’t believe in transubstantiation as that you don’t fully understand what it is. Basically, it simply affirms that the bread and the wine truly become the body and blood of Jesus—as He said that they do. Even though they still look, feel and taste like bread and wine, they are really his body and blood. If you believe this, you may certainly receive Holy Communion.
