May I receive Communion?

I’m a cradle Catholic, and like a lot of young people I drifted away from the Church in my late teens/early twenties. During that time, I met and fell in love with a man who’s not Catholic and not interested in becoming one. We did not have a Catholic wedding. At Easter, I returned to the Catholic Church, but we still have not had our marriage validated (my husband refuses).

I know that all of the above means we’re not really married according to the Church. However, my husband and I do not live together right now (long story). If we don’t live together, is it OK for me to take Communion, assuming I have no other reason not to?
 
Hi,

All you need to do is go to Confession and live in a celibate way. If and when your husband changes his mind and your marriages is eventually blessed by the Church, then you would be able to live as husband and wife.
