May I study on Sundays?

I have exams from Monday to Friday of next week and also Monday and Tuesday of the following week.

May I study tomorrow (Sunday) and the following Sunday, and if so how much?

Also, I study piano, and I normally do a good deal of practice, which I usually find very tedious, on Sundays (about 3 1/2 hours, although I often take breaks during practice) although I am planning to reduce this by about 30 minutes to an hour for the next two Sundays, due to the exams I mentioned above. Is this okay?

There are two types of work that are forbidden on Sundays - one is servile work (meaning physical labour such as tradesmen might do). The other is paid work.

Either type can nonetheless be done if absolutely necessary (ie if you can get no other job except one where you are required to work Sundays, or if you work in emergency services or something).

Neither study nor music practice comes into neither category of ‘forbidden’ work. Furthermore, Sunday study is also (usually) necessary and allowed for that reason. I know I never studied on Sundays unless I had to - for that matter I didn’t study any other day unless I had to, either

Studying isn’t working it’s gaining knowledge, improving your mental abilities. It’s no sin to study on Sundays. I read and study on Sundays too quite often, it’s one of the rare periods of time in the week I can find the time for it. Every Sunday I go to our local church followed by the reading in a good book and some writing.
