May one add tap water to holy water?

Once I was told that I could add tap water to my home holy water font and bottle to prevent the holy water from diminishing due to evaporation. Is this acceptable to do?
 
Hi,

Yes, this is acceptable. But make sure the the majority of the water is the blessed water and not what was added.
