In the Shorter Christian Prayer Book, one of the Intercessions to God in the Morning Prayer Lent: Monday is:
Code:
May our generosity today bring joy to those in need,
in helping them may we find you.

Have we not previously found the Lord God before we bring joy to those in need on the Monday in Lent?

In one sense, yes. But in another sense, finding God is not a one-time event, like, “Well, I found you, God. What’s next?” Finding God, or perhaps better yet, God finding us, is an ongoing process, at least it is for me. In fact, I think it will take a life-time! I know I am constantly forgetful of God, putting my own desires and concerns to the forefront, and thoughts of God on the back burner. So when I give of myself in generosity, putting other’s needs before my own, it is as though I have found God again. Again and again.

it’s an ongoing thing.
The poor we will always have with us.
The people in need of prayer are in the zillions.
We pray for the courage, patience, and zeal to cover them in prayer at all times, thereby drawing closer to God and his Holy Will for us.
Jesus calls us to do this.
Peace to you!

Christofirst, Thank you for a beautiful response. Truly finding God is not a one time event. God finding us is a marvelous experience!
