My fiance and myself are both practicing, baptized Roman Catholics. We are planning on getting married March 21,2009. Our Church told us that they allow weddings during Lent, but I cannot get a straight answer from anyone as to whether or not we would be allowed to have a nuptial mass. Obviously my future Spouse and I want to have Mass and the Consecration and to receive the Body and Blood of Christ on our special day so a full mass is a very important aspect for us. Are you allowed to have a nuptial mass during lent?
thanks
Mary

Mary,

These links should give you a starting point for a discussion with your priest or parish’s wedding coordinator about what your parish’s customs are for Lenten weddings. Congratulations! If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please contact Catholic Answers directly.
