I answered YOUR question, Truth Seeker (see above, #14, Matthew 5:13 to be precise).

And can you show us where the Bible says to rely ONLY on the Bible?

Also, if you are pulling quotes from websites, you should be providing links to those websites. I believe that is addressed in the forum rules

.
How about this, where in the Bible does it say not to? The point is, you hold man’s teachings before God’s Word and you and I both know it.

What’s the question? To remind you it is like 10 different catholics who wants to argue with me.
Haha, this is a great post. Reminds me of what one of the less honest Muslim posters likes to say whenever he starts refusing to answer people’s questions.

Your changing the subject. Let’s focus on the Bible my friend.

Again, that is not an answer.

But, in fact you have answered it. The Bible does not tell you to rely soley on the Bible.

I’m going to say this.

The Bible is the Word of God. God is all you need. When you start to depend on man to tell you what you need to know, depend on his (man) teaching, or defending man’s teachings, you start to stray away from the Word of God.

God would not give us an incomplete book. When you are able to see this. You will see that God is all you need. Point blank.

The reason people do not like to put the Bible first is because of many reasons, but a few stand out the most. You CAN’T follow Christ if you do not believe in him enough to know that His Word is sure.

If you take one scripture from the Bible, you have to believe it all to be true, not just that one verse. That’s not how it operates. You can’t use the Bible only when you see fit.

As many people have pointed out, the Bible does not contain everything. If it does, please show me electricity, air conditioning, washing machines, universities, forums, and the internet.

If we relied solely on the Bible, we would all be wearing robes, and be working as shepherds,

There is balance to it all.

Truth Seeker,
Here is the conflict that we see that you seem to miss.

The SECOND that you post a Bible verse and then state an opinion, it is no longer a Bible verse but a teaching of man. Now, if the teachings of men cannot be trusted over the Bible, what you have posted is useless and is of no matter to us.

What you are claiming is something like this: The Bible is all you need for faith.

However, this cannot be shown by using the Bible, which means that the statement that you are making is not supported in the only thing needed to have faith.

Please show me the word Bible in the Bible. You cannot. Please show me where the Bible is the only thing that you need. You cannot. Sure, you can show that all scriptures are good for teachings and so on, but no where does it say that all you need is the Bible.

If you post a verse, it is a verse. The second you add to it with commentary or explinations, you have already gone into the teachings of men and negated your point.

What Catholics say is that the NT was written for the Church by the members of the Church to aid in teaching the Truth of Jesus CHrist, who is the Living Word made Flesh. To support this claim, we have history. Since so much of this history is not in the Bible, you will deny it. That does not make it less true. In fact, it is this history that allows us to have the Bible in the first place.

The Bible is not the Qur’an. Jesus did not show up and say "Here is the Bible.’ The books were composed over centuries and the Church, under the Holy Spirit, put them together into the form that we have today.

Here is a good example for you. Jesus taught that there would be a ressurection of the dead on the last day. Now, using the OT Scriptures, which is what Jesus had, can you proove what he said to be true? Not really. Since Jesus taught it, we know it to be true. However, it is not explicit in the OT. That is why the Saduccies denied it. It was ORAL TRADITION.

This one is up for you all to decide. Now this is just me looking around over the internet and reading some scripture.

We know that the world can come up with some crazy things, but this one, you really have to dig into. Like I said before, A LOT of people target the catholic church. So same questions from the last thread and more. But the main one is, how do you defend this things with doctrine? When people accuse what I believe to be wrong and them right, I simply go to the Bible, so when this situation comes up, what do you refer to? Obviously, these accusations are major to the point where a person just can’t say “that’s not true”

Im not saying that any particular pope is the anti-christ. That’s insane. But will that title come from the catholic church based off of these beliefs. These names were added up by someone else and not myself. These names were also add up in Latin/Roman Numerals

Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

THIS IS NOT MY DOING. I ONLY COPIED AND PASTED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW YOU STAND ON THIS.

AGAIN, THIS IS NOT MY DOING!!!
this is your lamest post yet, and you’ve had some pretty lame ones!:rotfl:

An excellent example, I think, of the one thing all Christians must watch out for. No matter how godly something is, it is always possible to make it into an idol and put it before man.
God would not give us an incomplete book. When you are able to see this. You will see that God is all you need. Point blank.
The OT was incomplete before the coming of Christ, so you must be incorrect on that. The NT by its own admission is incomplete, saying that much more must happen. On the pedantic side, the Bible is not a book, it is an anthology.
The reason people do not like to put the Bible first is because of many reasons, but a few stand out the most. You CAN’T follow Christ if you do not believe in him enough to know that His Word is sure.
Which is proof that Catholics worship the anti-christ, correct? By the way, I didn’t see any scripture in this post.
If you take one scripture from the Bible, you have to believe it all to be true, not just that one verse. That’s not how it operates. You can’t use the Bible only when you see fit.
Have you looked over that section I told you to look over yet? How many angels were at the tomb? The bible is infallible on spiritual matters, but only when placed in proper context.
