Maynooth Seminary - Ireland's last seminary not fit to teach seminarians?

See the good side of it: many Irish priests are formed outside of Ireland, supposedly in much better environment, and there is a serious movement to move all of them to Rome.

The lack of spirituality and orthodoxy is the death of the priestly mentality, and apparently this institution will be closed in the foreseeable future,
 
Many of the problems we see today among the priesthood (abuses, etc.) can be traced back to poor seminaries who weren’t doing their job. I knew of one priest who, years ago, was offered to be president of a seminary or go to New Guinea as a missionary. He chose the latter and spent several years there. Upon his return, he went back to the seminary, but chose to leave because it had become so worldly. There were posters of girls on the walls, etc. He said they had lost it and he couldn’t, in good conscience, continue teaching there.

Many of the seminaries in our country should be closed down for teaching heresy and not forming the seminarians properly. Luckily, many of our seminarians who go to these poor seminaries are already formed in the faith and know the faith before entering, so they aren’t tricked into believing heresies. They just do what they need to do to pass the tests, etc., and get ordained. Then, they can serve properly. I’ve seen a lot of very faithful, courageous young priests coming out of the seminaries in the last decade or so. It’s heartening!
 
If the seminary is so bad why don’t these teachers get excommunicated?you can’t teach heresy.Replace these with good teachers from US,ect. Won’t Ireland allow non Irish priests?
 
This is extremely sad. Ireland, once a superb example of devout and pious Catholicism…has come to this…things will get better though, I pray 🙂

Usually their teaching license is revoked, but the institution of the tenure does not let them to be removed. The freedom of the research has it’s rights.

The disobedience to the authority is generic characteristic of our times.
