I have read about. 2/3 of the report and listened to a number of commentators. IMO the report itself is testimony to a serious problem in the church. In some regards the report is forthright but it takes pains to protect living Bishops and the Pope from any criticism!
Early in the report it states that money had no effect on the decisions whether or not to hold McCarrick accountable and so they did not investigate where the money came from or who got it. What?
They did not interview Archbishop Vigano or ask for any documents. What?
Yet the report puts major blame on him! What?
The report points out that there was a lack of documentation. Right, people do not record things that may end up in a court room as evidence against themselves!
I surely do not know what the truth is but I believe the cover up to avoid scandal continues! That is scandalous!
Questions I believe need to be addressed. What protection does the church have from ambitious Bishops and Cardinals?
How does the church encourage forthrightness in dealing with acts that would be scandalous if known?
How does the church challenge the actions of the Pope?
I am not leaving the church and I will speak up more in the future because we the Catholic people deserve better!

I just heard Bishop Olson Fort Worth, on Catholic radio saying we need more information where the money came from and who got it.
