Well as the title suggests, I’m 20, and this girl I’m interested in is 24. We haven’t known each other that long, less than 2 months, but I am interested in her, and just trying to make a better friendship with her. She says, does things that make it look like she is kind of interested too, but it’s too early to say at this stage.

Despite all that, I never asked her age before, and I just figured it out yesterday, she is finishing uni this semester, whereas I finish sometime in 2010 or 2011.
You are to be congratulated for ‘looking before you leap’, rather than falling head over heels in love and disregarding all else as so many couples do.

It doesn’t seem to me like such a big age gap, but it depends on the two personalities involved.

It doesn’t sound like you’re planning to make any sudden moves, so enjoy each other’s company, pray for guidance, and continue to view the situation logically and realistically.

Yes, it can work. If you were a woman, and you were interested in a man 4 years your senior, you wouldn’t be asking the question.😉 Four years, at the ages you are both at, is very workable. Just take it slow, though…no need to rush.

I hope things work out.

I will have to agree with those that say that four years is no big deal. And there is no need to rush into things either if you feel you aren;t ready too. But me and my husband are 19 years apart and we are happily married. 🙂

I can tell you from my experience (same age 24, but I was 21, so it was three years) that there are things to do together and the time can pass nicely, although the difference is noticeable. What I’m trying to say is that the difference won’t disappear. It’s there and you can either take it or not. Problems are when the older woman would already like a family, a house and a car and so on, while the younger man is still a student. Then she goes to work and he’s still at school. If you both work or if the difference doesn’t affect potential wedding dates, then there’s less to overcome. If not, well, then not, but some people can handle that. My friend’s parents are six years apart and the father is the younger one.

I am really happy to find this thread! I’m kinda in the same situation… only I’m the girl. I’m 18, he’s 16. We’ve been great friends for a long time, we get along great, comunicate really well… and all that. But we’re both really young, so we’ve decided to wait until he’s about 18 before we date or anything. We relate to each other so well, our age difference doesn’t seem to have any impact on out relationship. We’re very open to God’s will though… If ‘we’ are in His plan, it will happen in His good time.

But don’t worry, trust God, and take it slow. 🙂

Check out 1 Corenthians 13.
God bless!!! 😃

My wife is 6years older than me and we have a great life and two children. I could not be happier. Older women rock.

You aren’t dating, don’t know her age, still in the process of becoming friends, but considering whether 4 yrs is too big an age gap for marriage?

Dude, your cart is soooooooooooooooooooooo far in front of the horse that he can’t even see your dust.

You are a rather ignorant person, try bettering your english comprehension skills, I think everyone else here has managed to get the gist of what I was saying.

You might as well have commented on the civil war in the mid 1800’s and it would have still made more sense.
