What does God mean when He “set apart” Jeremiah? I’ve read various definitions.

The Hebrew text uses word meaning “consecrated”. More than chosen, but selected for a divinely inspired mission.

I bought a wall hanging that says only the first two lines and I was wondering what, exactly do those first two lines mean for me, personally? That God has selected me for a divinely inspired mission?

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
Before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Of course. We all have a role in salvation history.
I don’t know what His role for me is!
It’s not complicated. He wants you to be good and do His Will. That’s all.

Deut 30:11 Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. 12 It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” 14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.

15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

So, live your life and do your best to keep God’s commandments.

1 Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commands is what counts.
