For years I kept coming across Romans 8:18 everywhere. It states " For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." What does this passage really mean?

That yea you are suffering now, but when you are dead in heaven you will finally have happiness and glory? Or does it mean your sufferings are temporary right now, but God is going to make something good happen soon for you on Earth?

It is a cost-benefit analysis… even our heaviest burdens or sufferings on earth are far outweighed by the glory that awaits in heaven

Hi, Dina!

Consider the passage in light of:
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8)
This is the culmination of the Christian experience… it is the currency of abiding in Christ; poverty, illness, persecution… we must endure it all in Christ and offer it up to God, in Christ; we are Called to a different plane of existence (St. Matthew 5 through 7).

Our Faith and trust in God Who:
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8)
So even in our worst, God can make good things happen (it could be for our own personal benefit or that of others–in the temporal and/or spiritual world).
