Christus ressurexit!
This past Easter Vigil at our See, I was trying more or less to follow the removal of the bishop’s mitre during parts of the Mass so as to understand the meaning of it, but I failed to understand.
I recall that he removed the zuchetto for the Consecration, which I take it is done in respect of the Real Presence. But apart from that, the meaning of the removal of the mitre was lost to me. Perhaps it is because I don’t know what exactly the mitre represents?
Anyone care to help me out with this one? Thanks!
