The sowing of different seeds tends to impoverish the soil. So I am guessing that means to use the same seed to sow the field to have a plentiful and most fertile ground without any bad soil mixed with it. It could also be read in light of the NT in which Jesus warns against having two masters.
The two different seeds would be vying for the same soil. This leads me to the parable of sower. The word (the good seed) is choked by weeds.:twocents:

this is part of the over-all Levitical commandments against mixing–eating meat with dairy, combining different fibers in clothing, and like all such laws are given to the Hebrew people in order to remind them of their covenant with God and to warn against the practice they point to, intermarriage with men and women outside the covenant. God warned that practice would be their downfall as it was of course as it brought worship of false gods into their families leading to the weaknesses that led to the breakup of the kingdom and the other drastic OT events.
The detailed prohibitions on seemingly minor issues like what to eat and what to wear, while they may have “common sense” explanations like health and hygeine, were given for the purpose of reinforcing, teaching, and exhorting adherence to the Covenant. Because the people had demonstrated their disobedience to the commandments of the decalogues, these further “petty” commands were given not necessarily as punishment but so that every action of obedience necessary in complying with them in daily life would be a constant reminder and teaching on the major commands of the covenant.

The New Testament speaks of the seed as the word of God.
