'Meant to be together'

I personally think if there is such a thing as destiny, we can never know what ours is until it acutually happens. If that makes sense.

Actually that makes complete sense. I guess I’m just wondering if it’s always true!

I’m done waiting. If I don’t have a ring on my finger by the time I’m 30, I’m taking that as a sign that I should go to the convent. I was accepted to a local one, and they are leaving that option open for me. 30 has been my cutoff ever since I was 18.

I’m turning 33 in a couple weeks, haven’t put a ring on a woman’s finger yet…

I don’t know of anything in Church teaching about this specific topic, but . . . . I believe that God knows what we need and can “facilitate” us meeting someone who will be a good marital match for us (not that there’s only one person for each of us) if He so chooses. I also think He might actually send us “signs” and/or give us some sort of peace in our hearts so we know when He’s trying to lead us to someone good for us (even though we still have free will, of course).

I agree with this, and experienced that same feeling of “peace” that you mention. Also, (and this is a p.s. to my last post too), I don’t think that letting God steer your courtship or finding someone who you just know you’re meant to be with necessarily means that there’s only one such person in the world for you. It’s a big world, I’m sure that any two compatible people can be “meant for eachother” if they pray for God’s will in their discernment/courtship and then make the choice to be married. If that makes any sense lol.
