Is there anything in the Bible or Catholic teachings that say you can’t have both together? I heard it mentioned recently during a cooking show. I believe it was to do with the Jewish faith. The thought occured to me again tonight as I was enjoying a bowl of pasta. I don’t think it is wrong but am seeking some clarification.

Thank you

“Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk” (Exodus 23:19, KJV). I believe this is the verse on which the rabbis based their wider prohibition against eating meat and milk, or dairy products of any kind, at the same meal.

As @po18guy points out, this rule still applies in Judaism but not in the Christian religion. See Acts 15.

Got it, thanks for taking the time to answer!

I guessed this was the case but that thought on the back of my head wouldn’t let it rest.

Thanks for taking the time to answer, I had a read and understand it a bit better now!

While you’re poking around in that bible, have a read of Matthew 15, Mark 7 and Acts 10. That should help clear it up.
