So— I would like to start this off with saying that I am quite scrupulous, so sorry in advance. The problem I am having is with the possibility of meat contamination in my food and touch and things of that nature. I had heated up pizza in an air frier, but then I realized it was likely used with meat. Since it is lent and Friday that stressed me out, and I tried looking for answers on whether your foods touching meat breaks the obligation, making it sinful. This same question is for things like utensils, cooking surfaces, touching meat then touching something else and then it touching my food and food prepared in fast food places. I am sorry if this was a little ramble-y, I’m stressed and this is my first time posting on a forum.

Welcome to CAF!

If you suffer with scruples, the best person to talk to is your Priest. Often online forums can actually be detrimental to your scruples, and take the place of proper offline help from people who know how to help you. Please talk to your Priest about this issue and about your scruples.

Here is a useful guideline. If any food is described as vegetarian or vegan it is okay.

I agree talk to your priest, but remember this act of abstinence is done in love for God. God is kind and merciful. Charity is the number one reason Jesus came to earth. Please relax and talk to your priest as soon as possible, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. God bless.

Then you need to be under the care of a competent priest and NOT posting here.

That isn’t a problem because the Church doesn’t teach anything like this. It’s fine if your meal touches meat, etc.

This is your scruples/OCD— take it to your pastor for counseling.

Welcome. Would love to answer but…

How are you dealing with the scruples? You will never be at peace until and unless you do.

Concur with all advice above to seek counsel from a priest to combat your scrupulosity.

Considering that you must touch the utensils – and possibly the food itself – And you are made with meat, the answer is: No.
