meatless fridays?

In the USA, we are not obligated to do so, but it is still recommended. If one doesn’t abstain, then it is also recommended that one still perform some other act of penance. All Fridays are still days of penance, even outside of Lent.

I think it should certainly be encouraged more then it is now though. Or at least the idea that you should set aside some activity on Friday as a mark of penance.

There needs to be a religious revival .This needs to be emphazed more often,regardless of whether it is required or not.
