Hi folks,

I am sometimes looking god.tv, quite a good TVchannel which can also be recieved in Europe.

But I’d really like to know which denominations there are involved?

For me some preachers seem to be charismatic, or non-denominational.
Could there also be some Churches which proclaim the prosperity gospel?

I know, my Catholic friends, that you would say that this channel is evil and I shouldn’t watch it. 😉 😛

But what do the non-Catholics think about this channel? (Of course Catholics are also invited to give there two cents! ;))

I don’t know anything about the TV channel you brought up.

Thoughout most of the World, EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network) can be found, if not on TV, on the internet.
I highly recommend it. 👍

I know EWTN (and I can also recieve it). And I also know that it’s a Cathlic channel! 😉

But thanks.

I am not too sure but I think God.tv (also called the God Channel) is a US (and British?) TV Channel which are broadcasting worldwide.

Esdra,

Does this help at all:
http://www.god.tv/node/1
???
If that page doesn’t help explore the site to see if there are any clues.

I’ve never heard of this before. (Personally, I wouldn’t go near it. Some of their statements include the very reasons I ‘came home’ to the Catholic Church in the first place.)

They tend to fall into Charismatic beliefs. You can’t really put a label on it since they don’t confine themselves to one particular doctrinal position. However, a look at what type of ministries they show will reveal that they believe in the continuation of spiritual gifts and they have relations with people in the new apostolic and prophetic movements. You can possibly throw in some prosperity gospel for for good measure.

I sometimes watch it, and there are some good qualities to it. However, I will warn you that they can sometimes lack discernment, as in they are quick to promote any type of “revival” or new “move of God”. Case in point, Todd Bentley and the Lakeland Outpouring was broadcast on this channel. Bentley was put on a large pedestal, and his humiliating fall was an embarrassment.

Since everyone’s time is limited to different degrees, it’s always best to stick to those TV channels we know propogate the truth.👍
EWTN is the Catholic Channel, and has excellent programming for Catholics and interested non-Catholics.

Hi all,

thanks for your answers.

So I was right that they are a charismatic movement.

I was asking this question because this channel will make a trip to Israel in Septembre 2011. And my biggest wish (since I’ve become a reborn Christian) was to go to Israel once.
But I think I won’t, as I am not sure if this movement is “secure”. (I’ve already been for a few months in a charismatic movement (which proclaimed the prosperity Gospel) and it didn’t do me too well…)

I’ve in the beginning thought this is some kind of non-denominatinal Church, as the borders, IMO, aren’t that strict to pentecostals…
