I read that when meditating on the mysteries of the Franciscan Crown Rosary one meditates not during the decades but after them.

Has the Rosary ever traditionally been said this way, reserving meditation for after and not during the decade?

It’s a private devotion, Pray in such a way as is most beneficial to you.
I’ve always meditated BEFORE. But that’s just me.

I don’t know about that but I’m reading “Champions of the Rosary” right now and I know that it has been recommended to meditate before. Personally I meditate during, but it took some practice as it’s a bit like mentally patting your head and rubbing your tummy to both pray out loud and meditate at the same time. I think whatever way works for you is just fine, so long as you are doing the meditations.

I’ve always meditated and prayed at the same time … I think it really is a matter of whatever works for the person saying the rosary.
