Friend,
Code:
First, the apparition of the soul appearing is the work of God's Will. I quoted a priest but when I noticed to I failed to put the quotes it was too late to edit. So this is not my opinion it is the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. I should have had quotation marks.
Since the soul is not speaking I can venture a guess.
Code:
Since this type of apparition is a soul in Purgatory suffering I wouldn't expect them to look happy. That might be their best face so to speak and may be their most positive face they can make suffering in Purgatory.

Then finally aren't we supposed to pray for Souls in Purgatory. If I can pray and that Soul can go to Heaven then I bet they are smiling.
Merry Christmas,

Can I ask for a link about this priest, if there is one? Just curious. Yes we do pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory everyday I hope. 🙂

The fact that “the soul appearing is the work of God’s Will” has no bearing on anything because even when demons appears as our loved one, that only happens because God allows it.

Can you please supply reference?

The OPINION of a priest does NOT make something an OFFICIAL teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.

     Here is the site [www.fortea.us](www.fortea.us).

And my humble apology, this is opinion and is his opinion but it falls within the Teaching of the Church. Sorry if I offended anyone. This is stated as
"Although this web is fruit of the collaboration of a number of computer specialists and psychiatrists, its “alma mater” is a catholic priest, J. A. Fortea. Further below we offer a résumé about him. As a result, we affirm and confirm that this web page is Catholic in its belief and in all its contents submits itself to the judgement of the Catholic Church. "

Sounds like peer reviewed publication before it was put out there. You know like in peer reviewed journal publications.

The article about apparitions is in Frequently Asked Questions section. Their webmaster’s father is very ill and the normal webmaster is not there. That translates to if you ask a question it may take days for an answer.

Merry Christmas

I don’t think ghosts and medium are necessarily the same thing in all cases. I myself can claim to have seen a “ghost”. Mediums though are in contact, in communication, with dead people, are predicting future events, leading people away from dependence on God’s providence and therefore in opposition to God’s commandments. :twocents:

Let’s be clear about this. Just because they submit to the judgement of the Catholic Church does not mean that what they have to say reflects the official teachings of the church. Official teachings of the church are reflected by the CCC, Canon Law, information found on the Vatican Website would be a good candidate for representing official church teaching and MAYBE official bishop websites.

Outside of that, we need to be cautious as to what we pass off as OFFICIAL church teaching because while it may, it also may not, representing the official position of the church on that particular matter.

Yes, now you are beginning to understand what I was trying to say.. Going to a medium is a like putting God aside. Clearly the nature of this is a a subject of contravervsy. What I'm certain is there are people who have been hurt grieviously by occult practices.
